Only 3,000 sets went into circulation in "SALUTING THE COMING EXPLORATION OF MARS" as the stamps indicate. This stamp set was the first official recognition of the Face on Mars. In 2008 the Phoenix Mars Lander finds water ice... life???   Who knows
