Collectibles or Collectables
Collectibles or Collectables... is there a difference? The word Collectibles is a pluralized noun for objects that are considered worthy or suitable for collection. Evolving from the past where fine pieces of art or antiques would have originally fallen under the realm or category of Collectibles, it has come now to today to include any of a wide variety of items for a variety of purposes such as an interest for display, as a hobby, or as an investment to reap appreciating value. Collectables is an alternate spelling of Collectibles. Unlike 'what came first the chicken or the egg', Collectibles seems to be the forerunner to Collectables. We will maintain our interest in Collectibles; however, we will certainly understand and appreciate some people’s interest in Collectables. They must be newcomers to collecting.
